Galvanized Steel Coil Z275 is a carbon steel sheet that is coated with zinc on both sides. This is produced through a metal coating process that passes the cold rolled coil through a bath filled with molten zinc. This continuous hot dip coating or also known as electro galvanizing is the main process these carbon steel sheets must go through to produce the coils and galvanized sheets. The process consists of applying zinc through an electrolytic treatment. After the sheet goes through this treatment, a layer of zinc adheres to the base metal through an iron and zinc bonding layer.

Galvanizing is a well known and effective method of adding a layer of protection that prevents bare steel from corrosion from the elements of nature. Not only does the zinc act as a barrier between the environment and the steel, but it also breaks down first to protect the steel underneath and extend its life.

The most external layer is all zinc, but successive layers are a mixture of zinc and iron, with an interior of pure steel. These multiple layers are responsible for the amazing property of the metal to withstand corrosion inducing circumstances.
